The Memorial of Peter Fjällstedt

The memorial was erected by Silleruds homestead association ca 1940, in remembrance of Peter Fjällstedt (1802-1888). Remnants of the cottages' chimney is still to be seen. Fjällstedt was one of the pioneers of the Swedish Church Mission in foreign countries. He edited a bible with explanations.
He was also the founder of the seminary, Fjellstedska skolan, in Uppsala. Summertime open air services are held here.
