Alsters herrgård is the countryside estate where Gustaf Fröding, one of Sweden’s most beloved poets was born. The manor is beautifully situated eight kilometers east of Karlstad and is open daily during the summer. There is an exhibition about Gustaf Fröding, manor park, cafe, restaurant, handicraft and souvenir shops and an art gallery. Alsters herrgård is overlooking Lake Vänern and is surrounded by beautiful nature and hiking trails. Daily guided tours of the Gustaf Fröding exhibition. Note! The exhibition is only open when there is a guided tour and the tours are only held in Swedish. Guided tours in english can be arranged on demand.
