The complete golfing experience for all ages
Do you fancy playing golf at one of central Sweden’s top-ranked golf clubs? If you do, you should head to Karlstad Golf Club, previously awarded Golf Club of the Year and long-time home to elite-level domestic and international competitions. Although the club attracts top-level players, it is just as good for beginners. The club boasts a 27-hole course, driving range, training areas, an indoor hall and a short hole course - ‘Solslingan’ with a total of nine holes. You will also find a Golfstore golf shop and a restaurant with a large terrace and lunch service.
One of Värmland's oldest golf courses, dating from 1964, at Billerud Golf Club in Grums, is a short distance from Karlstad. Recently refurbished, the golf club sports beautifully kept courses with views of Lake Vänern from all 18 holes. As well as the views, which make your visit complete, the beautiful oaks and stone walls are an integral part of the cultural landscape in which the course is set. Accommodation near the golf course is also available, with a hotel, cabins and motorhome pitches all nearby.
A wide range for you who loves golf
There are everything from smaller to larger golf facilities, but something everyone has in common is the well-groomed golf courses, surrounded by magnificent nature.
Combine golf and relaxation
If you are in north Värmland, why not visit Sunnes Golf Club, which offers 18 holes and is located on the shores of Lake Fryken. After a day’s golf, you can head off to Hennickehammars Herrgård and stay in one of their beautiful rooms, or visit the Selma spa and unwind in the hotel's spa or restaurant
In Filipstad, play a round at Saxå Golf Club. The club nestles alongside lovely Lake Saxen, which stretches between Filipstad and Hällefors. There are views of the lake from 13 of the course's 18 holes, and with both Saxå Bruk and Hennickehammars Herrgård nearby, you have the opportunity of extending your golf experience and chilling out in a grand manor house environment.
Plush wide greens in west Värmland
West Värmland offers a wide range of golf courses. The course at Årjäng, designed by Peter Nordwall, features contrasting holes and large greens. The undulating landscape provides a fantastic environment for this 18-hole course on the Svensbysjön shores. The course also has amenities such as golf-cart rental and cabin accommodation if you want to stay right alongside the course. If you want a slightly more challenging course, head for Arvika Golf Club with its 18 exciting holes, driving range and putting green, or Noresund Golf Club, an absolute gem by Lake Hugn, with a restaurant and accommodation in the manor house annex.
