Road trip: From Swedish linen to Norwegian glass

In the border region between Sweden and Norway, you can experience top-quality culture – all in just one day. Here are four gems in Arvika and Magnor.

Vackra handdukar i olika färger som hänger mot en vägg

Klässbols Linneväveri

At Klässbols Linneväveri, a linen weaver, you can experience Värmland’s textile craftsmanship of the highest quality. Their handwoven tablecloths adorn the tables at the Nobel Banquet and can be found in Swedish embassies around the world. Here, you can also follow the production up close and shop for their beautiful tablecloths and towels.

Rackstadsmuseets salong med tavlor

Rackstad Museum

About a 20-minute drive from Klässbols Linneväveri.

Discover exciting modern and classic Arts & Crafts art at Rackstad Museum. The museum is as beautiful on the inside as the garden is to stroll around in on the outside. Be sure to enjoy a nice lunch here as well.

Fabriksgolv i regnbågens färger

The Plus

About a 45-minute drive from Rackstad Museum.

One of the world’s most environmentally friendly – and surely also most stylish – furniture factories is Vestres The Plus in the forests of Magnor. It’s architecture that will make you go “oooh” and “aaah” both inside and out. A proof that it’s possible to build beautifully and functionally at the same time.

Glasblåsare

Magnor Glassworks

Just a five-minute drive from The Plus.

End the day trip at Magnor Glassworks and experience glass craftsmanship of the highest class. Glass has been hand-blown here since 1896, and you can both see the production and shop for glass design in the factory store. And don’t forget to enjoy a fika while you’re here!
