The chapel is in some part built of parts from a 17th century church in Norra Råda. In the 18th century the church in Norra Råda was picked down and brought to Uddeholm across the ice. In Uddeholm it was used as a corn storehouse. After a restauration in 1960 the church was reconsecrated.
