kmRåkullsrundan is a difficult, quality-assured and certified Hiking Värmland trail that takes you through the wilderness of Hovfjället. The hike begins with a climb to the top of Hovfjället, where a lookout tower offers sweeping views across the landscape. From there, the trail continues south through untouched natural forest with varied terrain – from rugged bedrock pine forests to vast wetlands and dense spruce woods.
At Råkullsberget, you’ll reach Hovfjället’s best viewpoint, offering panoramic views of the surroundings. Along the trail, there are good chances to spot forest birdlife, including capercaillie and black grouse. Peaceful rest areas can be found at Baggtjärn and Råkullstjärn, perfect for taking a break and enjoying the silence.
Halfway along the trail, you’ll come to Bondfugestorp, an old croft that now serves as a rest cabin. There are fireplaces both indoors and outdoors, and traditionally managed meadows that preserve the area's rich variety of wildflowers.
