Please respect that Klarälvsbanan is a pedestrian and bicycle path!

Class I mopeds (EU mopeds), quad bikes, cross bikes, cars, or anything else that is not considered pedestrian or bicycle traffic are not allowed on Klarälvsbanan.
The following applies to each municipality along Klarälvsbanan
GC = pedestrian and bicycle path.
Karlstad Municipality – GC
Forshaga Municipality – GC
Munkfors Municipality – GC NOTE! Prohibition on Class I and II mopeds.
Hagfors Municipality – GC
Trail Marking
Klarälvsbanan has a unified graphic profile on all signs along the entire route. The same applies to Klarälvsleden, which is marked on existing minor roads.
Lighting
Street lighting is available in the central parts of the towns along the route.
Maintenance
Each municipality is responsible for the maintenance of its section of the path.
Summer Season
During the summer season, the path is swept several times, providing smooth asphalt with a soft feel. The vegetation along the edges is also trimmed since plants can otherwise bend over the path in some areas. Klarälvsbanan is swept from March/April to September/October, depending on the weather. The path must be free of snow and ice before the first spring sweeping can take place. Usually, it becomes ice-free first in Karlstad and last in Hagfors.
Winter Season
Winter maintenance of Klarälvsbanan varies between municipalities. Most municipalities plow and sand the path in central areas as part of regular plowing operations.
Road Barriers
At some points where Klarälvsbanan crosses a road, there are road barriers, but not everywhere. It is important to stay alert as traffic may cross the path.
