Unionsleden – Cycle between Sweden and Norway

If you want to cycle in two countries with exciting and varied nature in an area rich in natural experiences, Unionsleden is an excellent choice. The trail’s name comes from the fact that Sweden and Norway were in a union between 1814 and 1905. The union was formed in Moss and ended in Karlstad, just like the cycle trail. When cycling Unionsleden, you’ll be struck by the beautiful, changing landscape. One moment you’re cycling through villages, the next along one of our many lakes.

Vänerleden – Sweden’s 6th National Cycle Route

Along Vänerleden, you’ll find several cafes, cozy farm shops, and fantastic eateries with White Guide status that offer you a delightful taste experience. Vänerleden offers separated cycle paths, low-traffic asphalt roads, but also gravel roads winding through archipelagos, forests, and farmland. Some sections are already used as cycle paths, and some sections are entirely new as cycle paths, making Vänerleden a total of 64 kilometers long.

Klarälvsbanan – 90 Kilometers of Paved and Car-Free Cycling Path

Klarälvsbanan is a 90-kilometer paved and car-free cycling path that runs along an old railway embankment, stretching from Karlstad to Uddeholm. Here, you’ll travel from open farmland in the south to the deep and friendly forest in the north. At the start/end of Klarälvsbanan, in the north and south, the Klarälvsleden connects, offering you additional adventures in fantastic nature.
