Cross-Country Skiing in the Tunnel

Torsby Ski Tunnel & Sports Center offers training for cross-country skiing but is also an excellent choice for those who want to hike, run, or bike. The ski tunnel is 1.3 km long and 8 meters wide, providing plenty of space for both elite skiers and families. Skiing in both directions of the tunnel gives you 2.5 km of varied skiing, always with optimal conditions: -3 degrees Celsius, no wind, and never any risk of rain.

Master Training and Technique

Torsby Ski Tunnel & Sports Center is a certified Vasalopp Center for skiing, cycling, and running, used by many elite athletes and recreational enthusiasts alike.

The area and instructors maintain a high standard and can help you develop your technique or learn cross-country skiing. You can also purchase or rent all the necessary equipment for skiing at the ski shop located next to the ski tunnel reception. During winter, if you’d like to go on a longer tour in the area, there are also excellent fitness trails around the ski tunnel. The sports center also offers more activities within walking distance, such as a disc golf course and an alpine family slope suitable for both adults and children.

Eat and Stay Well in Torsby

After several kilometers of skiing and tired legs, it’s nice to know that you can go straight from the tracks and trails to relax. Torsby Sporthotell is the ski tunnel’s closest neighbor and is located right next to the arena. The largest hotel in the area is Valbergsängen Sporthotell, which is also within walking distance of the ski tunnel. Here you can choose between hotel or hostel accommodations, and enjoy a good meal in the restaurant during the day. Outside the sports center, in and around Torsby, you will also find several hotels and cozy cottages.
