Winter in Valfjället

Valfjället brings skiing joy to the entire family. With one of Värmland's highest elevations, Valfjället Ski Center offers varied skiing with 12 slopes, a fun park, and the opportunity to combine downhill skiing with cross-country skiing.

Alpine Skiing, Action, and Cross-Country

There is something here for all types of skiers: wide slopes for those who want space and narrower runs for those seeking more challenge. Valfjället has 5 lifts and 12 runs, all leading down to the ski shop, which serves as a natural meeting point. Beginners can practice in the two children’s slopes for free, and as an added bonus, there are rarely queues at Valfjället’s ski lifts, giving you maximum time on the slopes. If you prefer to enjoy nature at a slower pace, there are also excellent cross-country ski trails in beautiful surroundings.

Funpark

If you’re looking for an activity that gets your heart racing and brings a rosy glow to your cheeks, you should try out the funpark. Here, you’ll find rails and jumps of varying difficulty as well as an airbag for soft landings, even when jumping high.

Improve Your Skills at Ski School

Valfjället’s ski school offers you basic techniques, so you can ski independently after just a few lessons. It’s also possible to book one-on-one lessons with an instructor to focus entirely on improving your skiing skills.

Valfjällskrogen Restaurant

Valfjällskrogen is the natural gathering spot when you feel hungry. The restaurant serves homemade dishes, sandwiches, and pastries from the local bakery. During the season, you can often enjoy live music at the après-ski, where you can dance and sing along.

During the day, you can park your skis at one of the open barbecue areas and grill the food you brought along before heading back to the slopes. If you prefer to stay warm indoors, you can linger and enjoy your lunch package in a cozy, heated room.

Accommodation at Valfjället

A cozy cabin is essential for a perfect ski holiday. After a great day on the slopes, there’s probably nothing better than lounging in your ski base layers, playing board games, and enjoying delicious meals. At Valfjället, you can book 100 percent family time in one of the cozy cabins featuring three bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout much of the resort.

Shopping

Just a short drive from Valfjället Ski Center is the Charlottenberg Shopping Center, where you can shop a lot or a little for your vacation or to take home. With over 60 stores, there’s definitely something tempting for everyone: a variety of clothing stores, a sports shop, and a large grocery store—not to mention the largest candy store in the Nordics.
