Outdoor art, design and architecture

Around Karlstad there is a wide variety of public outdoor art and architecture to experience. Be sure to check out the city's various murals from the project Artscape. As well as murals, there are also statues and Sweden's longest stone bridge, which has become a real Karlstad monument to behold. Along the Solapromenaden, which runs alongside the Klarälven river that winds through the city, you will find statues of Värmland icons such as Selma Lagerlöf, Gustaf Fröding, Nils Ferlin, Sola i Karlstad and Sven-Erik Magnusson, but also creative and modern statues such as Musselsång and Ensamräv by artist Emma Kronvall. With Värmlands museums app you can take a guided tour of the statues with the help of the Sculpture Guide in the Museum Park.

Karlstad also has several architectural landmarks. The Värmland Museum at Sandgrundsudden consists of two buildings with very different expressions.
