The reserve was formed to preserve the mining and cultivation landscape with its well-preserved and rich cultural history background, scenic and varied natural areas with its artificial flora and fauna.
An exciting experience is to enter Tilas Stoll, a horizontal mining route. - Now opened!
There are about 15 mining holes in the area. In the reserve is a memorial stone over Värmland's first organized mining strike in 1869. The mining plant was laid down in 1906. The area has a very rich plant flora, among others, the orchid Purpur Knipperot.
Högbergsfältet on a peninsula in Lake Yngen consists of 15 mines with 200 deep fenced in mine shafts which were worked from 15th century. These are among the oldest mines in Bergslagen.
