The nutritious bedrock with lime and greenhouse organisms means that the area has a rich flora. The northern part of the reserve consists of a limestone-affected wetland strip with elements of some drier parts with limestone-affected and highly dependent meadow vegetation. The southern part is dominated by young birch forests. The reserve was formed to protect and preserve guckusko in one of the few places in the county. Guckuskon is, like all Sweden's orchids, freed. The area is part of the European nature network Natura 2000. Plants Lövängen carries a lot of herbaceous herb flora with species like fractures, bracts, butterballs, moths and underviolets. Other populated species are dwarf lions, field gentiana, darling grass, hair star, virgin and cat foot. One of the rare species found in the lower part of the moisture strip is the wire mesh. The stock of guckusko has increased since the 1950s from about 10-15 to about 50-300 flowering plants.
