Northeast of Kristinehamn lies lake-rich Vilången – a peaceful fishing area in the forests of Bergslagen with pike, perch, roach and bream.
Vilångens Fishing Area is located northeast of Kristinehamn, in the forested region between Kristinehamn and Storfors. These lakes are surrounded by nature and scattered summer cottages – making it easy to find your own peaceful fishing spot.
The fishing area includes: Stora Vilången, Lilla Vilången, Bergtjärnen, Vassgårdasjön, Mjögsjön and Ämten. At Stora Vilången, you’ll also find a nature reserve with 300-year-old pine trees and a public fire pit and shelter on the mainland.
You need a valid fishing permit for all lakes. You can buy it in Kristinehamn at:

Children under age of 17 fish for free, only with hand held equipment.
You can catch perch, pike, roach and bream – and sometimes ruffe or burbot, if you're lucky.
Fishing is allowed with hand gear only: rod fishing, spin fishing, ice fishing and trolling (max two lures).
No fixed equipment is allowed.
Around the lakes, summer cottages are sparsely scattered, offering good opportunities for seclusion and tranquility. Please respect wildlife, nature and other visitors. Use designated fire pits where available.

Sweden has a unique law called Allemansrätten – the Right of Public Access – which allows everyone to enjoy nature. But it also comes with responsibilities.
