There are also trout and eel in Ransjön, which is located on the outskirts of the municipality, towards Sunne. Angling, fly fishing, spinning, trolling with and without a motor is allowed. Special trolling cards can be purchased for 100 kronor, allowing free number of rods per boat. Only fishing for subsistence is allowed.
Holding of fishing license also entitle children and spouses to fish with hand tools. Young people under the age of 16 fish without charge. Fishing licenses can be purchased on www.ifiske.se or at Munkfors Ransäter tourist information.
In Ranån, fishing is prohibited on the stretch from Ransjön's outlet about 600 meters down to the road bridge.
There's a boat dock at Otterbäcksviken, on the east side of the lake. Violation of rules involves a fine of 150 kronor.
