kmHovfjällsleden is a demanding trail suitable for both hiking and trail running. You can choose to start at Torsby Sportcenter in Valberget and make your way all the way up to the summit of Hovfjället, or hike in the opposite direction and finish in Torsby.
The trail passes through varied terrain, following orange-marked posts through forests, wetlands, and hilly landscapes. Be attentive not to stray onto the snowmobile trail, as some parts of the route are shared with ski and snowmobile trails in winter.
During your hike, you’ll experience the silence of the wilderness and magnificent nature, with the views becoming more expansive the closer you get to the summit of Hovfjället.
Trail status
Current status: Open year-round, but can be difficult to pass during wet weather. No winter maintenance for hikers, but the trail is used as a snowmobile and ski trail when there is sufficient snow.
Route and access points: Start and end points at Valberget, Torsby Skidtunnel & Sportcenter, and at the summit of Hovfjället.
Trail markings: Orange markings and guiding posts.

Hovfjället is well-signposted from the trunk road 45 at Vägsjöfors approx. 17 km north of Torsby.
